Tom McKee is a name that is synonymous with sound leadership.
For more than thirty years, Tom has held elected office, serving as State Representative of the 78th District since 1997, and Magistrate of Harrison County since 1978.
“I’m proud to represent the 78th House District, and proud of the positive legislation I have worked on that benefits our district and the state,” says Tom.
Since 2001, Tom has been member of the Tobacco Settlement Fund Oversight Committee as well as the Tobacco Task Force. He serves as Chair of the House Agriculture & Small Business Committee, co-chair of the Interim Joint Committee on Agriculture, and serves on the Local Government and Tourism Development & Energy Committees. As a member of the Surplus Agricultural Commodities Advisory Committee, he works to secure surplus agricultural food products into food banks for distribution to the needy. He is recognized as a leader in Frankfort, where his experience and expertise in agriculture provide important insight to his fellow legislators.
In his 12 years as a state legislator, Tom has not missed a vote. His 100 percent voting record is a testament to his integrity and his commitment to the people of the 78th District.
A lifelong resident of Cynthiana, Tom and his wife Sue have two children, Katie and Jim, and five grandchildren. Tom and Sue are members of Cynthiana Presbyterian Church where he serves as an elder and deacon.

Representative McKee was a primary sponsor of HB 611 in the 2000 legislative session. This bill created the agriculture development board to promote agricultural diversity and has put millions of dollars into rural communities across the state.
In addition to the many pieces of legislation Representative McKee has sponsored that were enacted into law, he has been responsible for directing several million dollars of state funds to education and infrastructure projects in the 78th District.
